I’m a product/industrial designer and engineer with a BA in Industrial Design (Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, Mexico) and an MSc in Integrated Product Design (Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands). I have experience working in 4 different countries (UK, The Netherlands, India & Mexico). I like to work in projects that are exciting, challenging and meaningful. I don’t want to stagnate working in the same thing over and over. I like to be dynamic, always changing, staying out of my comfort zone. I learn fast and well, I’m adventurous, entrepreneurial, and trust my guts, I like to do, build, repair, tweak, mod, carve, mill, cut, sand, and of course create. I like technology, electronics, and software. I love sports, especially football. I love arts, especially music & films. I play & build electric guitars, and I love everything that has to do with it (amps, effects, accessories, etc.). I’m sociable, relaxed and playful, but serious and committed. I like long lasting relations with people. I am lucky to have a large and supportive network of people, many friends, and many best friends. I try to constantly increase my social circle. Having graduated from university with a product design qualification I established myself as a freelance designer helping companies and individuals develop their products and ideas into 3D and creating parts ready for manufacture or prototype. Two years ago I co-foundered a technical design agency offering creative and technical support. We've worked with some big names such as Samsung, Lotus, Dyson, Courvoisier, Pelican, and Softbox to help develop point of sale stands, and product ranges. I spent my formative years in Upstate New York developing a passion for art and design. In 2010 I began studying mechanical engineering at Cornell University. While there I learned to couple my inclinations towards design with the technical experience I was gaining at school. After graduating in 2014 I started working for Burn Design Lab designing biomass cookstoves for East African markets. I then moved full time to Nairobi, Kenya to support prouduction and head up new design projects. In 2019 I received my Master’s degree in Design and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, after which I began working for Dyson in early 2020. I believe in product design as a means for impacting and improving lives. Especially in design for developing economies it can be imperative for an integration of the engineering and product design processes. In my work I try to follow the words of industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss: “An honest job of design should flow from the inside out, not from the outside in”
