I have twenty years work experience in an engineering manufacture environment having worked in the automotive and aerospace component manufacture sectors, Jig and fixture design, special purpose machine design and tooling design for the drop forging and cold roll section industries. I have extensive 2D and 3D CAD design and detailing skills in most major software packages. I am intelligent, articulate, hard working and conscientious. I have excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills, along with a polite telephone manner and extensive computer knowledge. I am a designer and engineer that has worked on a very wide variety of projects over the years. Solidworks is my 3D modelling program of choice. My background is that I grew up in Birmingham, studied and worked in Bristol and currently live in London. I have a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, and worked a total of six years at Airbus (formerly British Aerospace). I ended up as a Structural Design Engineer, working with CAD, focussing on wing design for research and new projects. I left Airbus to pursue further studies and completed the Innovation Design Engineering course, a combined MA/MSc co-run by the Royal College of Art and Imperial College in the summer of 2011. I have been freelancing since then on a wide variety of tasks, running the gamut from creative to technical for such clients as Epson, Intel, Loowatt, the Royal College Of Art, Seeper, Spark Create, Studio XO and WPP. I have helped make fashion garments with integrated technology for major pop stars, exhibition designs on the future of retail and even a waterless toilet for use in developing countries. I am always on the lookout for new, interesting adventures and challenges, and work on many projects in my spare time to increase my learning.
