About the job
Description:
We need an electronics / PCB design engineer to complete a KiCad project for a small ESP32-S2 module carrier board.
This is not RF design. The ESP32-S2 is already a certified module. The main work is schematic cleanup, component selection, PCB layout, routing, BOM/CPL/Gerbers for JLCPCB.
Project:
GK-Tech TCP USB / Serial Bridge V1.7
Main hardware:
ESP32-S2-MINI-2 module, Wi-Fi only
USB-C for service/programming, 5V input and battery charging
External 1S Li-Ion/LiPo battery connector on PCB
Charger / power-path IC
5V boost converter, target 5V / 2A if practical
USB Host solder pads
USB Host VBUS power switch / current limiter
USB data 2:1 switch between USB-C and USB Host
RS232 via MAX3232E or equivalent 3.3V RS232 transceiver
RESET and BOOT physical buttons
STATUS and CHG LEDs
10 safe GPIO/test pads
Important UART0 requirement:
UART0 DEBUG / TEST header must contain only:
3V3
TX0 / GPIO43
RX0 / GPIO44
GND
Do not place EN, IO0/BOOT, USB D- or USB D+ on the UART0 header.
Final GPIO/test pads:
GPIO1
GPIO2
GPIO7
GPIO8 / SDA
GPIO9 / SCL
GPIO16
GPIO17
GPIO18
GPIO21
GPIO34
Power requirements:
USB-C should power the board, power the USB Host device and charge the battery.
Battery should power the board and USB Host device when USB-C is not connected.
5V boost target is 5V / 2A continuous if practical, but the engineer must verify IC, inductor, capacitors, thermal design, copper width and battery discharge curre...

Provided files:
KiCad draft schematic
KiCad PCB mock layout / visual placement reference
Visual PCB reference image
Requirements notes
Pinout CSV files
Deliverables required:
Corrected KiCad schematic
Final KiCad PCB layout
BOM with orderable parts, preferably JLCPCB/LCSC-compatible
CPL / pick-and-place file
Gerber files
ERC/DRC clean report or explained exceptions
Short notes for JLCPCB PCBA submission
Important:
The provided KiCad PCB file is only a visual placement mock, not a final routed production PCB. Please use it as layout intent/reference only.
