I am looking for an experienced mechanical designer to develop a retractable cable mechanism with adjustable pulling resistance.
The mechanism will work similarly to a power spring-based retractor, but with user-adjustable resistance and the ability to generate 0–20 kg of cable tension during a 1-meter pull.
This is a conceptual engineering project, but the mechanism must be fully functional — not just a visual design. Internal mechanical solutions should be realistic and based on available components.
