Description:
We are designing a next-generation smart switches for a smart home. starting with a boiler wall panel — a premium, touch-enabled physical control panel that integrates natively with the Shelly smart home ecosystem. This panel will live on a wall in homes and premium residential spaces. It needs to feel like it belongs next to a Nest thermostat or a high-end Bang & Olufsen product — not like a utility switch. The current concept (attached) establishes the core functionality. Your job is to reimagine how it looks and feels — and propose additional smart features that make this product stand out.
What the Panel Must Do
Core functions (must be included):
Touch power on/off — boiler activation/deactivation
Smart visual timer — user sets a heating duration by touch (e.g. 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 min, +1h increments)
Touch timer control — tap-based interaction, no physical knobs
Status indicator — shows whether boiler is on, on a timer, or off
Shelly-powered — the panel is powered and connected via Shelly hardware
Constraints:
Maximum 7 LED indicators (use them wisely — they carry the visual language of the product)
No screen / no display — the design must communicate state purely through LEDs, layout, and touch zones
Wall-mounted, landscape orientation preferred (approx. 130mm × 88mm, or propose your own)
Must feel premium and minimal — think matte surfaces, subtle backlit icons, flush touch zones, white glass
Design Direction
We want clean, technological, high-end. Inspired by:
Luxury smart home interfaces glass panel
Consumer electronics (Apple, Teenage Engineering)
Minimalist industrial design — every element earns its place
Avoid: Busy layouts, large labels, cheap-looking LED strips, button clusters
Embrace: Negative space, subtle tactile zones, elegant iconography, a sense that the panel disappears into the wall when idle and comes alive when touched
Suggested Additional Features to Consider
We invite designers to propose thoughtful additions. Examples that interest us:
Proximity wake — panel glows softly when you approach, goes dark when idle
Timer arc / LED ring — remaining time visualized as a circular LED countdown
Boost mode — one-touch quick-heat shortcut
Child lock indicator
Connectivity status LED (Shelly Wi-Fi/cloud link)
Ambient temperature hint via LED color temperature shift
You are not limited to these — surprise us with functionality that feels genuinely useful and elegantly expressed.

Discussion
Dear Yanivf,
I have prepared the smart panel design based on the requirements and design direction you shared. I focused on creating a premium, minimalist, and modern concept that aligns with your vision for both functionality and aesthetics.
Please take a look at the design and share your feedback. If there are any changes, refinements, or additional features you would like to see, I would be happy to make the necessary modifications until it meets your expectations.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Dear yanivf ,
“Since this contest is not blind, I want to highlight that my innovative idea could be copied or altered for added looks or features. Please review carefully to ensure that any similar designs appearing later are recognized as coming after mine.”

Dear yanivf,

please set contest to pre funded and blind, thank you
I'm new to the platform. I'll make it blind and fundded
The current product is strict and based on an exciting PCB , However we will be designing a new PCB shortly.
In the additional features section you are suggesting features that will require more than 7 LED's. If I design something that has more than 7 LED's would it be considered too?
Thank you
Thank you
Hi, will this project be funded soon? and can it be blind to avoid similarities? thank you
I meant by a seven-segment digital display that we can use any kind of numerical display?
Hi, you mentioned that we must use a max of 7 LED indicators, and the remaining time visualized as a circular LED countdown. So, for the 7 LED indicators, are they only for setting the timer, or do they also indicate power and Wi-Fi status? And can we use a seven-segment digital display?
On it
we request you set contest pre funded and blind, thank you

Gridseed Scrypt ASIC Mining Frame - Acrylic Waterjet & CNC
Howdy!
Let's do something futuristic.
Cryptocurrency mining, heard of it? There's specialty computer hardware used to hash mathematical algorithms in a distributed network to generate digital money!
This project is to build a frame to sexily mount 10 of these specialty computers to in hopes of cleaning up some messy mining rigs out there.
Speaking of messy rigs, here's a video of some good and some bad examples of the Gridseed ASIC miners. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wcb8VIheP94
In the attached image TheDrawingBoard.jpg you'll see some ideas but I welcome your own input if you believe you've got something that equals win.
Ask questions, let's do this!
Klein two way radio
We are going to make a new housing / face design for our two-way radios (walkie talkies). Must be professional, not a kids-toy design. Something rugged, ergonomic, and aesthetically pleasing.
Panic Button with logo
Denis, we need your help urgently. The lighting is not working for us on the light silver shell and it's coming out really dark on our end. Can you please create a render for us where you swap out the exclamation point with this logo? And show it in a variety of colors? Here are the instructions:
1. Swap out exclamation point with this logo
2. Show it in a variety of colors - maybe 4 or 5 logo colors. Please keep the logo treatment the same as this exclamation point treatment. Nothing should be different except the exclamation point becomes this logo.
3. Shell color is the light silver shell.
4. I have attached the logo file plus a mock of what we're looking to achieve.
5. One render where it is closed as well where you can see “armed” light
6. Timeline: tonight. Is this possible? We need it for a meeting tomorrow morning PST.
