Mini-ITX Computer Case

Contest Ended, Winner(s) have been selected.
Description:
Hi Everyone!
This contest is for the smallest Mini-ITX computer case with the following requirements:
-Includes rendering of a mini-itx motherboard
-Includes rendering of two nvidia 1080 video card in sli configuration
-Enough room for liquid cooling on cpu and video cards including radiator fan(internal or external).
-Includes rendering of 800watt SFX-L PSU
Wants:
- looks modern
- preferably aluminum
- easy to fit into duffel bag for travel or transport
-
Don't Wants:
-All the space in the case should be filled and not left empty.
-It should be no more than 10 L in volume.
Software:
  1. AutoCAD
  2. SolidWorks
Additional Information
** UPDATED OCT 22nd **
- Single 1080 card with dual slot
- Volume should be no more than 7.5 L.
- Part drawings with Dimensions. I'm planning to send to a machine shop to have it manufactured.
- SFX PSU
- Noctua Low-profile Quiet CPU Cooler for AMD Based Retail Cooling NH-L9A cpu fan
- Rounded edges if possible
- Case opens up easily. Thumb screws or panel. Hinged opening?
- Renderings must INCLUDE the following parts fitting inside the case:
* Parts w/ accurate dimensions. I see too many designs w/ empty boxes that are too small to fit my parts.
* Screws and locations of the screws that holds the case together.
* An internal cage to keep the parts secured and structurally safe. I see too many designs that show the psu, mobo, card just sitting inside the case with no attachments to anything.

Message me if you have any questions!

#23 Small Mini-ITX Case by Joel K.
Final project with line drawings for fabrication. Case is aluminum sheet metal with brushed finish. Let me know if you have any questions. Case is 100% compliant to the ATX and Mini-ITX standards. All inward blowing fans have direct access to outside air, and all exhaust air is vented to ensure a cool operation. Final internal volume is 7.3 Liters. Final external volume is 7.6 L. I had some issues with Solidworks not regenerating views correctly, so I've included a PDF of the drawing for redundancy.

#12 Small Case by Joel K.
Small Mini-ITX case capable of accommodating a full size video card. Design utilizes EZDIY PCI Express 16x Flexible Cable Card Extension Port Adapter High Speed Riser Card-25cm (ribbon not rendered) as well as an internal power cord extension to allow for power supply to be located at front of case. Internal displacement is 8.0 Liters. External displacement is 8.5 Liters. No fasteners are included in eDrawings file, and concept does not include front panel usb/hd audio/switches or LEDs. There appears to be room left inside to include a slot for one or two 2.5" HDD mounts. Feedback is requested before full plans are provided so we can get a design that you are completely satisfied with. Thanks.

abhijeet, both. it can be sheet metal and/or injection mold.

Amigen can you make the following modifications?
-make holes for the PSU on the case backplate.
-have some place to screw the video card in place
-change the backplate to be between 0.30 and .052 inches thick so that it's itx compliant?

Are you planning for sheet metal case or even injection molded components will do? I see some designs not fit for regular sheet metal but stamped part or plastics.

How round do you want your edges to be? There is a big difference in design between "no sharp corners" and, for example, "1/2 radius" corners.

Hi Everyone, great job on the designs thus far! I am impressed by some of the submissions. As a result I also added a 2nd and 3rd place prize! I also extended the contest for 3 more days.
I've updated the description for my MINIMUM requirements. If your design doesn't meet the minimum requirements I will decline it. Please message me directly if you have any questions.
Also there will be private work after this to make my case the best and smallest case possible! Thanks!

Hi Michael. I took the volume of a box that fits inside your case and both are more than 7.5
rev3 = 270mm x 170 mm x 270 = 12.39 L
rev3 = 270 x 170 x 200 = 9.18 L

Do you want front panel LED/Buttons/USB/HD Audio as part of the contest design, or are those details something you'll work out with your design winner after the contest has ended?

We are only interested in the look and feel of the device; engineering will be addressed at a later date. The design submission should include: 1) Model File: in Alias wire file format 2) Rendered Imagery: showing front, back, top, bottom left right and a 3/4 perspective views. Rendered views for front, back, top and bottom can be combined into one or two image files if appropriate. The perspective view must be a separate image. It is encouraged that the rendered images be as realistic as possible and provide enough lighting to show design details. Environment and lighting style is left to the designer.
