Interchangeable Battery Adapter Holster Pack - Industrial CAD Designer

in Product Design held by mikelee
Contest Ended, Winner(s) have been selected.
Description:
Hello,

I need someone to help me make a interchangeable battery clip adapter where these Ryobi batteries (found from Home depot) clip into each other as seen in picture
It must be able to maintain enough room and functionality where the electrical terminals make proper contact.

The batteries in the picture are laid out exactly how I want it to clip into each other. Just fill in the space between the battery with the housing that I need for you to design. I also need an access port about 7mm in diameter.

The designer must already have access to these batteries which are common from home depot.
Wants:
-consideration will be giving to fit and finish
-how well the battery clips into the adapter
-the placement of a access port about 7mm in diameter
-the ability for me to wire up the terminals inside before final assembly
-the ability for me to install the electrical contact terminals
Ask for Sample:
Sample would be nice
Software:
  1. commonly used application that I can take to 3D print (shapeways.com) and even full production molding.
Additional Information

Pls disregard the logo(attached)  I could not delete that.

#2 battery holder with clips.SLDPRT by tsalpha
Ryobi 18V One+ Battery pack adapter. Designed as one half to be printed 2 times and screwed together. Simple spring clips slip into top of each half, after wires have been soldered onto the backs of each clip. They are held in place by the bottom of the second base. Designed for easy assembly. Battery fitment guaranteed, battery was completely reverse engineered and modeled to assure dimensional accuracy. Many other screenshots available, could not upload more than one at this time.

#6 Battery Holster by Kevin Dobson
This design was reverse engineered by disassembling my flash light using the one+ battery. With speculative projects like this, I allocate the amount of time I can put into the project. I have reached that time limit. Overall I believe the design great, but it still needs screw pockets for assembly and some tweaking to improve the molding process. I would be willing to finish up the design, should I be the contest winner. I would strongly recommend having it made via 3D printing prior to building any molds to test fits and tweak the dimensions.

#7 battery holder with clips (same design file, new screenshots) by tsalpha
This is the same design file as submitted earlier, but includes extra screenshot views. I'm doing this to highlight the designs simplicity, and ease of assembly.
This design contains only one unique part. Easily printed, or injection molded for mass production . Contact clips can be spec'ed at any parts supplier, both halves are quickly fastened together with two screws on each side. This also give complete access to the inside for wiring. Unlike other designs, the battery is a 100% digitally accurate model of the Ryobi 18V + One, ensuring proper fit and contact with the contact clips.

I'm from Romania.I don't have home depot...if you can, draw the dimensions yourself on a paper and post it...a simple draw, and then in 24 hours i'l send you a final version on scale....

Hi,
Your picture is exactly what I want, but I would have no clue as to how to provide you the dimensions. That's why i mention the battery from home depot as they are sold in every store and I was hoping anyone who has their tools would have it in their garage.

No i don't get the dimensions...i take the proportions from a picture whith ryobi battery, this is why is look like the original...on the internet i didn't find any dimensions...this is why i asked you about them...

HI Sergiu,

Did you get the final dimensions? Is the cad drawing accurate and I can take it to the 3D print and use right away?

Thanks,
Mike

The Brand is Ryobi. They typically are Li-ion now, but they are the same as the one in the picture I attached.

Dear Mr.Mike Lee,
I will check exactly dimensions of the common batteries from Home Depot, after that I will recommend you about the
interchangeable battery clip adapter. What kind of batteries do you usually use? ( brand, dimension?
Kind regards,

I do not have existing electrical terminals, I didn't know if that was within the abilities of people in this project, but YES! if you can help with that, it'll be added bonus!

It will be stand alone and portable. it does not interface anything else except for the 7mm hole. I will use that as a access port. The hole can be anywhere logical. so in this case out the side where it will not normally rest, since you'll be able to turn upsidedown, etc.

CAD Design of Lighter Prototype - 3D Vector Format
Hello: My name is Jeff and I am producing lighter cases/sleeves. I would like to know if you can produce a 3D vector form from picture images (jpegs). I need the image in STL format for prototype. The image (2 Sides) needs to be in RAISED RELIEF/SCULPTED so its dimensions can be felt by the user. Each side is somewhat small so the scupt does not need excessive detail. I can send patent pend. pics for possible approval. Thank you Jeff

Small waterproof weather sensor housing
The project is to develop a small waterproof weather monitoring button which will include a UV, humidity and temperature sensors. The button will be pairing with a mobile phone for transmitting data. This button could be used both at the beach to monitor UV exposure but also in house for room climate monitoring, We need a small electronic and sensor enclosure with the following specs: 1) Button or other (rectangular/cube/etc) similar shape 2) Small dimensions to host a 15mm x 25mm x 3mm PCB 3) Include a coin battery with an option of easy access for replacement 4) The enclosure/product should have a small protected whole for a humidity/temperature sensor (not more than 2mm diameter) 5) Include a UV sensor so access to light is needed 6) Include a Power switch/button 7) Include a led for indicating operation 8) Include a robust belt clip (or other removable clip, or/plus a magnet) built into the design 9) Waterproof design 10) A trendy design aesthetically pleasing as possible 11) we need the source solidworks files for printing on our 3D printing We intent to further work with the winning designer so as to fine-tune the design after initial testings
