Hold BDes. in Industrial Design/Innovation from Auckland University of Technology.

  • Product Designer Applied Wayfinding Inc · Contact Mar 2019 – Dec 2019 9 mos London, England, United Kingdom Worked alongside Senior Product Designer having been responsible for the design development of various sign products from conceptualisation, visualisation through to design intent and manufacture for several wayfinding projects within the public realm and private sector across North America, UK/Europe and Asia.
    + Collaboration with Senior Product Designer, Graphic Designers, Information Designers, Planners and Design Directors.
    + Report to Design Director to the recommendation of signage specifications, ADA & DDA compliance, construction methods and material selection.
    + Design research; feasibility of construction/manufacturing methods, material selection and graphic application methods.
    + Engaging with manufacturers and suppliers; feasibility, manufacture and installation costs and requesting product and material samples.
    + Product prototyping and testing of various signage components.
    + Proposing and initiating the studio's first material and product database cloud library.
    + Running various process manufacturing trials including full graphic 3D prints, infused print (map content on various substrates).

    The process and skills encompassed seeking out & identifying design opportunities/existing problems through extensive research; market research, field observations, reaching out to stakeholders, interviewing various types of users then responding to the needs through initiating ideas through extensive brainstorming, sketching, prototyping, testing, develop/refinement, CAD, visualisation and communicating the final product.

    Collaborations include undertaking projects with Auckland Transport, Douglas & Bec, Navicom Dynamics, Kathmandu and Avanti.
