About
I help founders, small businesses and social-impact teams turn physical product ideas into working prototypes. I’m a Sydney-based engineer and the founder of Nomadic Mechanic, and I’m a Member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers. I spent my early career as an R&D explosive engineer at the UK Ministry of Defence, working in safety-critical environments where mistakes aren’t an option. I now apply that discipline to concept design, CAD, rapid prototyping and design-for-manufacture advice. I work remotely with clients worldwide, and profits from my engineering work fund my mission of developing humanitarian de-mining tools.
I specialise in the concept stage, where ideas are cheap to change: multiple functional variations, clean CAD and renders, and a physical prototype with light electronics when you need one.
