3D modeling of an injection mold insert for a complex plastic part, design of EDM electrodes for deep ribs, and preparation of the complete NC machining process.
• Cimatron modules used: Mold Design, Electrode, CAM (3-axis Milling).
• Determination of shrinkage and parting lines based on the production 3D model.
• Automated design of graphite/copper electrodes and generation of electrode block documentation.
• Programming of roughing and finishing toolpaths (HSM – High Speed ​​Milling) meeting strict surface finish (Ra) requirements.
• Importing the part and repairing surface defects within the Cimatron CAD module.
• Determination of optimal cut depths and tool overhangs to ensure complete collision avoidance.
• G-code generation for specific controllers (e.g., Heidenhain, Fanuc, Haas) and execution of full machine tool simulation.
