Experience

  • Pipe Specialist ADS Pipe · Full-time Apr 2022 – Oct 2023 1 yrs 6 mos Remote, OR, United States For this job, they would bring me a specific document that had all kinds of information about the job site where the system was going to be built. I would input that information into their website, which would determine the size of the system and all other information as well as tell me if the specifications they wanted were possible at the location where they wanted to build. If it wasn't possible, I worked with the clients to determine what changes were needed to accommodate the system; then I would draft it up with a packet of papers that show the system, describe all the specifications based on the calculations the website gave me, and send it to the engineers, who would give it the stamp of approval and send it out for construction.
  • Civil Drafter Pivotal · Full-time Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 1 yrs Vancouver, WA, United States For this job, we were contracted to build fiber optics for AT&T. They would bring me documentation about a specific area, and I would input the information into ArcGIS and then draw out a 2D map in AutoCAD that had markers that described each device being installed and map out roughly where fiber optic cables were going to go. Then I would submit it for review, and it would be shipped off to AT&T.
  • Mechanical Drafter Henry Pratt/Mueller · Full-time Aug 2019 – Sep 2020 1 yrs 1 mos Woodland, WA, United States For this job, I was primarily brought in to clean up their established drawings, and I created a checklist that I would use to go through each of the established drawings and bring them up to the company's current standards. I would also help draw up plans, update the BOM, and if projects came in that their current drafters didn't have time to do, they would occasionally send new projects my way that I would get to 3D draft and create within SolidWorks. I would also use Windchill to upload/download files and keep track of the updates for their system.
  • Electrical Engineer Drafter Intern Columbia Machine · Full-time Jun 2018 – Jun 2019 1 yrs Vancouver, WA, United States For this job, I was brought in to help their current drafter update drawings and schematics to their new standards, and then occasionally they would bring me new drawings and ask me to change/modify things for them. I worked with one engineer in specific and got to help him design an entirely new machine. Since I was so heavily involved in the creation of the new machine, they allowed me to start going down into the machine shop to watch it be built and to see how the wiring for the machine is drawn, so that I got to see my work built in real time, and that was pretty awesome to experience, especially as an intern at the time.

Education

  • Clark College AAS - Mechanical Engineer CADD, Mechanical Engineering 2016 – 2019 Activities and Societies: Nerd Girls - Clark College Studied for three degrees: Mechanical CADD, Civil/Architectural CADD, and Electrical CADD.

Earned almost enough credits to finish Civil/Architectural and Electrical, but then the degrees were discontinued by the college before I could finish (at the time, I was a single mom; my daughter was three). So I only earned the AAS in Mechanical Engineering CADD, but I had almost enough credits to receive all three degrees. I nearly graduated in 2018; however, my daughter was hospitalized for a week, and my graduation was put off for a short while until she was better.
  • Cascadia Technical Academy High School Diploma, some college credit, Engineering 2009 – 2011 Activities and Societies: Leadership Courses - Campus Advocate/Outreach During my two years at the academy (Which was Clark County Skills Center at the time), I studied engineering, and my professor saw potential in me and asked me to attend weekly leadership classes that taught me how to do interviews, write resumes, and other things they felt were important for us to learn before heading out into the world. We were also taught public speaking skills, and each year we were required to give speeches for at least two schools as part of the campus outreach program that was meant to bring more students to the campus.
  • Woodland High School Diploma, High School 2007 – 2011 Activities and Societies: DECA - A global Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). I participated for a couple of years, going to conferences and doing resumes, job interview practices, and other things. Occasionally, I would score high enough on my events to participate at the state level. Spanish Club Chess Club Theater Went to high school here for four years and spent half the day there while attending Cascadia Technical Academy the other half of the day during my Junior and Senior years. Participated in various clubs and events during my time in high school.
