Experience

  • Product Developement Engineer Vessl Prosthetics Inc. · Full-time May 2023 – Present 3 yrs London, ON, Canada At Vessl Prosthetics, I work as a Product Development Engineer focused on the design and development of advanced lower-limb prosthetic technology. My role involves taking mechanical device concepts from early-stage design through iterative prototyping, testing, and late-stage product refinement.
I design compact mechanical systems for an adjustable prosthetic socket that converts linear motion from an integrated shock absorber into rotary motion, allowing the device to reel in socket panels and help accommodate residual limb volume changes. My work includes designing components such as inner and outer shells, sliding mechanisms, gear systems, cable spools, shafts, housings, shock absorber interfaces, and custom test fixtures.
I also support verification and validation testing, including ISO 10328 static and fatigue testing, FEA, pressure sensor testing, material testing, and mechanical failure analysis. In addition, I work with local and international manufacturers, CNC shops, material suppliers, and coating vendors to improve manufacturability, reduce component count, lower product weight, and support production-intent design.
