About
Profile Overview
I am a SolidWorks‑focused mechanical designer with over 17 years of hands‑on engineering and manufacturing experience, including a trade qualification as a machinist and current work as an Advanced Industry Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering at North Metro TAFE.
My core strength is turning concepts, legacy drawings, and scanned hand‑drawn sketches into clean, accurate, machine‑ready CAD. I specialize in SolidWorks part and assembly design, DXF cleanup, and designs that are realistic to manufacture, not just visually correct.
Because of my workshop and machining background, my designs are informed by real‑world tolerances, tooling access, material behavior, and inspection requirements. This results in parts that fit, assemble, and machine correctly the first time — saving time and cost downstream.
I regularly work on:
Legacy drawing digitization (including older scanned or hand‑drawn drawings)
CNC‑ready DXF creation with smooth geometry and minimal joints
Reverse engineering of existing components
Design for manufacture and prototyping (3D print → production)
Alongside industry work, I am currently completing a Bachelor of Engineering, further strengthening my analytical and design capability.
