I performed in-depth Finite Element Analysis’s on several different models of car hoists to examine the stress loading characteristics when subjected to loading requirements
laid out in AS2550.9. This was done for compliance and advertising purposes. It was performed with a premium version of SolidWorks 2022. -

-Performing physical stress testing of mechanical components such as couplings, safety chains, towbars, hitches etc. Testing was performed with a data logger, load cell, testbench and hydraulic ram. A commensurate report was then prepared for checking
by senior engineers.
- Performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for clients to investigate stress and fatigue loading characteristics of their various automotive components and structures.
- Design of bracketry to hold components during stress testing, by building a 3D model
then testing it with FEA. Once my senior engineers and I were satisfied. I then prepared workshop drawings for any parts that need to get machined and/or welded.
- Assisting customers with engineering enquiry’s as well as advising of any necessary design changes required to make their vehicle/ component compliant with Australian
Rules and Standards.
- Conducting dynamic Brake and Stability testing of Heavy Vehicles in line with ADR 35 requirements by use of a data logger with a variety of different sensors.
- Preparing and submitting evidence/reports to ROVER that demonstrates a vehicles compliance with relevant Australian Design Rules and/or Australian Standards.
- Preparation of the necessary Low Speed Swept Path documentation to support a Performance Based Standards vehicle approval.
- Noise testing of vehicles in line with ADR 83 requirements.
- Performing ADR38 Brake Calculations
- Testing of Electric Trailer Breakaway systems inline with ADR 38 requirements.
