    The Institute of Architects, Pakistan (IAP) is the professional development body for architects in Pakistan. Established in 1957, IAP aims to organize the architecture profession, safeguard the interests of architects and the public, promote architecture, and establish schools of architecture throughout the country. The IAP also enforces a code of ethics and discipline among practicing architects and encourages the passing of a statutory Registration Act for architects in Pakistan. IAP has been instrumental in establishing the first school of architecture in Karachi in 1954 and has played a crucial role in founding and managing many other architecture schools across the country. The majority of the full-time faculty members are affiliated with IAP, and many senior members serve as visiting professors, thesis advisors, and jurors. IAP conducts several architectural design competitions at local, national, and international levels for government and corporate clients.
