About
I was born and raised in Upstate New York, where I spent most of my time outdoors fishing, climbing trees, and riding bikes. Much of my work ethic was forged alongside my grandfather, Vern, the second-generation owner of our family masonry business. From the age of 12, I worked with him on the farm and in the field — lessons in grit and responsibility that still guide me today. Even now, when I return home, you’ll often find me baling hay with the family.
There’s a quote I keep on my desk and revisit often:
"The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure... He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him, he's always doing both.” – James A. Michener
That mindset reflects how I approach both life and design. I am an adventurer at heart — I thrive on challenges and believe every experience, every person I meet, and every mountain I climb leaves an imprint that shapes who I am. From summiting Mt. Whitney to traveling abroad, I carry those stories and inspirations into my work.
When I’m not designing, you’ll find my family and me outdoors: hammocks by the ocean, fishing golden trout in the Eastern Sierra, or snowboarding down backcountry peaks. My son Ryder, 8, is my greatest teacher — talented, compassionate, and already joining us on slopes, trails, and climbs. He keeps me motivated and reminds me why I do what I do.
Today, I am grateful to live and work in San Diego, designing products I believe in while being surrounded by a loving family, two French Bulldogs (Roxy and Zoey), and a community of talented professionals. My career is an extension of my lifestyle: creative, adventurous, and always driven by the people and passions that inspire me.
