  • Muncaster Steam Engine For this project, the client requested the complete 3D CAD reconstruction of a Muncaster steam engine in Autodesk Inventor based on existing technical drawings. The work involved interpreting the original 2D plans, modeling the individual components, developing the full mechanical assembly, and preparing exploded views and technical drawings to clearly represent the structure of the engine. In addition, I created assembly process videos to show how each part fits and interacts within the final mechanism. The final deliverables helped transform the original drawing set into a clear 3D engineering representation useful for visualization, technical presentation, and assembly understanding.
  • Four-Stroke Single Cylinder Engine Design This project involved the mechanical design and 3D modeling of a four-stroke single-cylinder internal combustion engine. The objective of the project was to develop a complete mechanical assembly capable of demonstrating the fundamental operation of a piston engine mechanism.

    The design process included the development of key mechanical components such as the crankshaft, piston, connecting rod, flywheel, cylinder housing, and supporting structural frame. Special attention was given to the kinematic relationships between the crankshaft and piston to accurately reproduce the four-stroke cycle.

    The entire engine assembly was modeled using professional CAD tools, creating a fully constrained mechanical system that allows the motion of the crankshaft–connecting rod–piston mechanism to be visualized and analyzed.

    In addition to the mechanical components, the project included detailed assembly configuration, mechanical constraints, and high-quality rendering for technical visualization. The design was developed with manufacturability in mind, considering machining processes such as turning, milling, and mechanical assembly methods.

    This project demonstrates my capability to design complex mechanical systems, understand engine kinematics, and create precise CAD assemblies suitable for engineering visualization and mechanical analysis.
  • Mechanical Design of an Axial-Flux Wind Turbine I designed a small-scale horizontal axis wind turbine from scratch intended to power a conventional irrigation system for a rural community. The project involved the complete mechanical design, component modeling, and preparation for manufacturing and assembly.

    The system was based on an axial-flux permanent magnet generator inspired by the Hugh Piggott design. I developed the full mechanical architecture including the rotor-stator assembly, fiberglass blades, shaft, bearing hub, structural frame, and tail vane for wind orientation.

    The project required detailed CAD modeling, material selection, and manufacturing planning. Multiple fabrication processes were considered, including fiberglass blade fabrication, CNC machining, lathe turning, milling operations, oxy-fuel cutting for the steel tail vane, and structural welding for the support frame.

    Special attention was given to component balance, structural integrity, and manufacturability to ensure the turbine could be realistically fabricated using standard workshop tools and processes.

    This project demonstrates my capability in mechanical design, renewable energy systems, CAD modeling, and the integration of manufacturing processes into engineering design.
