About
I’m Barry Deroche, an Industrial Designer and Mechanical Designer with more than 12 years of experience turning ideas into practical, manufacturable products and systems.
My background is a combination of engineering, product development, CAD design, fabrication, and hands-on construction. Before moving heavily into design and engineering, I spent approximately six years working in construction in the United States, from framing through finish work. That experience gave me a strong understanding of how things are actually built—not just how they look on a computer screen.
Throughout my design career, I’ve worked on projects ranging from small product components and custom display systems to golf simulators, cabinetry, mechanical assemblies, pipeline magnetic sensor systems, and large-scale FOD collection equipment and trailers.
I specialize in taking a concept from an initial idea through CAD development, prototyping, manufacturing documentation, and production-ready design. I work extensively in Autodesk Fusion and have a strong focus on parametric modeling, design for manufacturing, mechanical problem-solving, assemblies, fabrication, and creating systems that are easy to modify and manufacture.
One of my strengths is being able to bridge the gap between design and fabrication. I understand that a successful design has to do more than look good—it needs to function properly, be realistic to manufacture, assemble efficiently, and survive real-world use.
