About
I am a Mechanical Engineer looking for remote, part time work only.
I have 5 decades of experience as a Design Engineer and a Manufacturing Engineer in various industry categories, including: Automotive, Consumer Products, Industrial Products, Medical Devices, Outdoor / Sporting Goods, Packaging and Contract Assembly, among others.
I have a wealth of experience in real-world problem solving of design and manufacturing issues, including the design of fixtures, gauges and assembly aids, to ensure the efficient assembly of products.
I have done a lot of work with inventors who have product ideas but have no idea how to document them (3D CAD models and 2D drawings [used to be called “blueprints” for you old-timers], much less manufacture them.
For example, I had one client, a surgeon, who had an idea for a very ingenious surgical instrument. We had one 90 minute phone call, followed by many email exchanges, that resulted in a fully designed and documented surgical tool. It can be done!
Visit my website to get a grasp of the kind of work I do and have done.
Spoiler Alert: The really neat products are not there because of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) in place.
