I design and prototype functional mechanical parts and assemblies using Onshape — from precision-fit components to complex, motion-driven systems — and 3D-print working prototypes to validate designs quickly. My background is 3 years as lead/core designer for my FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team, where I was responsible for the mechanical design of our competition robot: motor-driven drivetrains, chain and sprocket power transmission, shaft and bearing assemblies, and structural chassis design, all built to survive real competitive use, not just look good on screen. That experience taught me to design for actual function under real constraints — fit, tolerance, durability, and assembly — not just visual concepts. Beyond mechanical systems, I also design organic and ergonomic surfaces where parts need to conform to a hand, body, or existing shape, and precision threaded/functional components where multiple parts need to seal, slide, or thread together correctly. Graduated From Gannon in 2021 where I was on the men's wrestling team. Worked as a design engineer in manufacturing and tooling for a year. Currently a mechanical engineer, mainly working in machine design. I am proficient in strengths of material, stress calculations, machine design, 3D design and most importantly the K.I.S.S. method. My CAD experiences dates back to 2014 starting with Autodesk Inventor. I now work with SolidWorks at my day job and have an Autodesk license at home. I also have experience with CREO. I have designed large scale 5000 piece assembly’s for companies like Firestone Tire and Goodyear and small packaging machines for 3M. I have done many industry first such as designing a machine that welds in ground pool walls together with the first ever open head design. I am a mechanical engineer with experience in the design and development of consumer products and medical devices. I have been involved in every step of the product development process--from initial ideation and prototyping to failure testing and inspection. I have also completed a number of reverse engineering projects. I am an experienced user of SolidWorks, PTC Creo, and Siemens NX. I currently use OnShape for CAD and drawing needs, unless a specific program request is made. Also, with a background in visual art, I am used to working closely with industrial and graphic designers and creating reports and presentations for marketing teams and customers.
