I work on difficult mechanical and product-development problems, particularly projects that begin with an idea or functional requirement rather than a finished design. My background combines engineering, construction, fabrication, prototyping, and hands-on problem solving. I am most interested in mechanisms, robotics, machinery, physical systems, and unusual engineering problems that require more than simply producing a CAD model. I can help develop a project from requirements and concept development through engineering analysis, simulation, mechanical design, prototyping, and manufacturing planning. I love creating! I've been designing since I was little. I specialize in new products that take some good thought and creation. Everything I do I create in 3d because I like to be able to see the whole project and be able to visualize from all sides. I have experience in the cycling industry designing parts as well as ski bikes and skis in the growing ski bike industry. I have experience in many different areas as well. Including but not limited to tools, building projects, remodels, furniture, toys, skate ramps and parks, bike trails and jumps, skis, scooters and of course bike parts and frames.

Over the past 17 years, I have worked as an R&D Engineer and Project Manager in the research & development engineering field on multi-disciplinary teams of Electrical Engineers, Testing Engineering, and Tooling and Manufacturing Engineers for sporting goods and outdoor products at Lifetime Products and for Smoker Grills and Culinary Products at Traeger Grills. I have also worked on ASTM Committees for Industry Standards. Throughout my engineering career I have created, managed, designed, worked on, and helped to sell many consumer home products which have ended up on major retail sporting goods shelves as well as online stores. Many of the products I have designed have been patented (see below). I have extensive experience with 3-D modeling and surfacing CAD software (most proficient with Solid Works and Pro Engineer/Creo), GD&T, Product Definition Package Creation, product testing, product development and enhancements, plastic part design, metal part design, Welding and Welding Processes, Sheet Metal Fabrication, and engineering materials used in mechanical design.
