I graduated from the University of Arkansas in the Spring of 2016 with a BS in Biomedical Engineering with Pre-Med distinctions. I hold minors in English, History, and Mathematics. While attending University I contributed part time as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Dr. Narasimhan Rajaram Ph.D. in the development of optical imaging instrumentation and biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and monitoring tumor response to therapy. My primary curriculum focus included Neurology, Nano technology, Advanced Prosthesis, and integration of bio technologies involving the neurological pathways, 3D design, 3D printing, CAD drafting, Structural engineering, and Mechanical Engineering techniques. I currently hold the position of Design Engineer for Berkley Industries. My primary focus is developing new and innovative mechanical and Industrial devices for a myriad of clients for a variety of needs. I previously held the position of Principle Design Engineer for R&R Solutions in Gravette Arkansas. I oversaw in charge all engineering projects, and custom design projects from the initial concept to the production run. I had the privilege of holding a position with NX Utilities as the Regional Quality Engineer for the Midwest. I planned and directed activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial design , materials, and products related to the fiber optic network pathways for major utility conglomerates. Before my NX days, I held the title of Engnieer/Designer for Advanced Lightening Technologies. I lead a team focused on R&D of advanced lightning protection systems using CAD and scale model simulations. In my spare time I enjoy being with my family, traveling to new places, country dancing, playing as many sports as possible, and the occasional Netflix binge.

I have more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing field with a focus on medical product development including equipment design and process development. I have spent the last 4 years working as a consultant doing both medical device product design as well as designing automated assembly and test equipment. For the medical device design, a major portion of the work involved identifying and qualifying manufacturing partners that would be used and then implementing manufacturing procedures and processes as required. I would work with the vendors to identify cost effective plans for startup manufacturing and develop prototypes that allowed us to verify design intent as well as test and verify production methods and procedures. I also worked with the vendors to establish a longer term ramp plan as quantities to be produced increase. My consulting work also included designing and building several pieces of semi-automated assembly and test equipment for use in clean rooms by medical device manufacturers.

While self taught, I have had the beneficial experience of being the son of a machinist/cnc programmer. My interest in CAD first came in the form of video game art. I worked briefly as an artist for Bohemia Interactive Studios, where I was involved in the Arma series games and their VBS simulator projects. I quickly learned though, that game art wasn't what I wanted to do. Since then, under the influence of my father, my brother purchased a Bridgeport Boss 4 CNC. My father and I spent a good amount of time through trial and error retrofitting that machine to full CNC. Now I use Rhino4 and madCAM, along with that Bridgeport, to design, prototype, and manufacture rifle components. The skills I'm acquiring by this, I think are unique because it gives me the perspective of manufacturing in my designs. I think this really goes a long way in helping me design more practically. Without a formal education, I know that there is much room for improvement. I also know that I've had pretty unique life experience associated with the course of my projects.

Infrastructure Technical Specialist I am Joseph Duff, a surveyor at heart with a mind for civil engineering. I am an applications engineer for an Autodesk reseller here in North Little Rock, Arkansas (ATG USA, Inc). I provide technical assistance, pre-sales technical proof, business process analysis, software training and implementation, product demonstration, and other technical business services to civil engineering firms, heavy highway construction, and land surveying companies who fall under the broad umbrella of the civil/infrastructure industry. I do not know anything about coding, though. My expertise is within the industry itself. Therefore, just knowing the software has never been enough. I was a CAD instructor at a 3 county vocational school for 25 years where I taught high school students Cad architectural and Mechanical Drafting.
