I have worked for many years collaborating with designers from top brands to bring their vision to life and to help them along the way to make it manufacturable and cost-effective. I have a wide knowledge base of manufacturing techniques and materials to fabricate what's required under cost and under deadline. I have spent most of my working career using 3D and 2D processes to create an end product from napkin sketches and blue sky thinking. I enjoy making things, for myself, for other people, for the world at large. I have an upbeat personality and I love learning new skills. I am an autodidact and a polymath, so much so that I have maxed out LinkedIn's skills section. I have strong interests in materials science, chemistry, physics, computers, technology, astronomy, and nature. Currently, I am working as a freelance designer, 3 and 5 axis CNC programmer/operator/consultant, 3D modeler, product or arch viz renderer and manufacturing consultant. I've worked in Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering for the past 20+ years. I'm currently an architectural designer but also do product design, civil design, as well as furniture/interior design. Architecture (software - Auto Cad, Revit, and Chief Architect): I've design residential houses using CMU block (Florida) and also using conc. poured basement foundations with framed walls (BC, Canada). I have also designed houses with ICF construction and know current architectural standards and building codes (IRC, BCBC, CBC, etc.). A lot of the current styles I design are modern, craftsman, and Mediterranean style houses. Mechanical Engineering (software - Solid Works): I've worked several years in the mechanical design field and have worked with gears, flanges, piping, plenums, sheet metal, CNC programming, and welding/bending/tolerances. Product Design (software - Auto CAD 3D & Solid Works): I've done some work with product design, have read and researched ways products are manufactured, and have designed improvements on current product trends. Plastic molds are a dominant feature for product design and knowing your type of plastic and its use play major roles during the design process. Since 1995 I have been a CAD designer, assistant manager of 2 drafting departments, a Senior Designer and Project Architect, and am now working in both AutoCAD and Revit, along with Navisworks and a bit of Sketchup. Many of my projects are now in the built environment all over the southern U.S.A. and there's no signs of stopping! I hold A.S. degrees in Architectural Design technology and Building Construction technology, and am casually working toward a third one in Engineering Design technology - so yes I have also done some projects in Solidworks and Inventor. I am also a regular contributor in the Autodesk forums, as Bob Zurunkle and am one of their Autodesk Elite.
