I am a designer and engineer that has worked on a very wide variety of projects over the years. Solidworks is my 3D modelling program of choice. My background is that I grew up in Birmingham, studied and worked in Bristol and currently live in London. I have a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, and worked a total of six years at Airbus (formerly British Aerospace). I ended up as a Structural Design Engineer, working with CAD, focussing on wing design for research and new projects. I left Airbus to pursue further studies and completed the Innovation Design Engineering course, a combined MA/MSc co-run by the Royal College of Art and Imperial College in the summer of 2011. I have been freelancing since then on a wide variety of tasks, running the gamut from creative to technical for such clients as Epson, Intel, Loowatt, the Royal College Of Art, Seeper, Spark Create, Studio XO and WPP. I have helped make fashion garments with integrated technology for major pop stars, exhibition designs on the future of retail and even a waterless toilet for use in developing countries. I am always on the lookout for new, interesting adventures and challenges, and work on many projects in my spare time to increase my learning.

I have in depth knowledge of the FDM process and how to optimise for: print speed, strength, and quality. Prize winner in many online 3D printing and design competitions, winning approximately £2000 worth of prizes in the past three years: Polymaker ‘3D printed hook tournament: Second place. A combination of mechanical engineering, creative design and DfAM to create the strongest possible 3D printed polymer hook (no closed loop) weighing less than 50g. I'm a self taught freelance designer who focuses functional prototypes for 3D printing manufacture, normally to solve niche mechanical problems in day to day life and to replace failed parts in everyday products. I've invented several products for use in the kitchen and modeled them fully in 3D, having learned first how to use TinkerCAD, then Onshape, and finally Fusion360, where I picked up the skills to draw in 2D as well.
