I am a Mechanical Engineering Student from the City of Glasgow College now pursuing a career as CAD technician. I have extensive knowledge of programs such as Inventor and AutoCAD to create 2D and 3D models of parts, assemblies and technical drawings. I am happy to assist in general product design and manufacturing tasks, and I would love to gain experience from a large variety of different projects. I have experience designing a conveyor system and building it in the workshop using the technical drawing I created, with great success. I have a personal passion for CAD design as it allows me to be creative and I enjoy the challenges that come with this work.

As an Associate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (AM IMechE) I am studying towards becoming an Incorporated Engineer in hope of gaining a recognised IEng status. My professional experience has focused on exposure to the design of mechanical components for manual & hydraulically operated valves in the Subsea & Topside Oil & Gas & Flood Defence Industries. Primarily, I use Autodesk Inventor for 3D Modelling and 2D Drafting of parts for manufacturability and assembly. I have a past experience of producing related calculations through the use of MathCAD for safe design of all parts in operation and a growing knowledge of FEA using Inventor for 3D Component Analysis. Other experience includes direct involvement with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Test & Assembly and with client meetings for project reviews and design updates. I aim to further my career by applying Design & Drafting support and sharing my growing knowledge of the products in order to benefit clients. I hope to make a beneficial impact by utilising Design Reviews and providing a solid structural method towards design inputs in order to help the work flow through numerous concurrent projects.
