The Product Design Engineer will help us in the complete product development process from concept to production.
Responsibilities include:
Design different products with the problem statement in mind.
Create detailed 3D CAD models and production drawings.
Design components for die casting, injection molding, machining and sheet metal fabrication.
Select suitable engineering materials including steels, aluminum alloys, polymers, elastomers and sealing materials.
Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
Design components for high-volume manufacturing.
Develop innovative mechanisms to improve pumping efficiency and ease of use.
Benchmark global products and identify opportunities for innovation.
Work closely with suppliers, toolmakers and mold manufacturers.
Coordinate prototype development and testing.
Support tooling development and pilot production.
Improve products continuously based on customer feedback.
Required Skills
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or Industrial Design.
5+ years of product design experience.
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred), Creo or Siemens NX.
Experience with:
Injection molded plastic parts
Die cast components
Machined components
Metal fabrication
Tolerance stack-up
GD&T
Strong knowledge of:
Steel selection
