PumpNest is an early-stage company developing a countertop freeze dryer designed specifically for breast milk. We are looking for a remote thermal and vacuum systems engineer to review our design and advise our team on the cooling and vacuum side of the system. This is a consulting role, not a full-time position.
What you would do
• Review the thermal and vacuum design of a small freeze-drying system, including the cold trap and refrigeration approach
• Check cooling and vapor-capture sizing and point out risks
• Advise on how components should work together (vacuum pump, cold trap, chamber)
• Answer questions during prototype build and testing, remotely
• Give a short written summary of your findings
What we are looking for
• Experience with freeze-drying (lyophilization), vacuum systems, or refrigeration and heat-transfer design
• Comfort working with supplier engineers and reviewing quotes and specifications
• Clear written communication
• Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement before seeing design details
