About the job
We are a medical device company in Mumbai, India. We need an industrial designer to design the enclosure for our clinical vital signs monitor, from concept through manufacturing-ready CAD. This is a one-time, fixed-scope project, not an ongoing role.
What we're building
A compact desktop patient monitor for hospitals and outpatient clinics. It has a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a built-in thermal printer, and a fingerprint sensor. The look should be modern, premium and approachable — closer to Apple or Philips healthcare hardware than to traditional clinical equipment.
Scope of work
Smooth white injection-moulded ABS/PC shell with anti-microbial matte finish, light grey front bezel
Screwless front face with no exposed fasteners and no front vents, so it can be chemically wiped down; venting concealed at bottom or rear
Tablet-like glass front with thin uniform borders, fixed ergonomic tilt for desktop use
Top-mounted thermal printer with top paper exit and tool-free roll change
Recessed fingerprint sensor, recessed patient cable ports with strain relief, rear panel for power/Ethernet/USB
Design for injection moulding at low pilot volume — draft angles, wall thickness, ribs, parting lines all resolved
Must not obstruct later IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2 compliance work

Who we're looking for
Portfolio with at least one medical, diagnostic or lab device taken to manufacture. Strong surfacing CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, Rhino or Fusion 360). Practical injection moulding DFM knowledge.
Terms: Fixed fee, paid across milestones (25/25/25/25). Full IP assignment on final payment. Mutual NDA before detailed specs and component data are shared. Two revision rounds included per milestone.
