I am looking for an experienced CAE/FEA engineer to perform a static load simulation of a car door and B-pillar assembly.
The objective is to evaluate structural behavior under static loading conditions and assess stiffness, deformation, and stress distribution in critical regions.
Scope of Work:
Import and/or cleanup of provided CAD geometry (car door + B-pillar assembly)
Material assignment based on provided or standard automotive-grade materials
Setup of boundary conditions and realistic constraints (hinges, latch points, mounting locations)
Application of static load cases representing door slam / side load scenarios
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation
Results interpretation:
Stress (Von Mises)
Displacement/deformation
Load transfer path analysis
Identification of weak points and possible design improvements
Deliverables:
FEA model file (software used to be specified)
Simulation report (PDF) with results and plots
Summary of findings and recommendations
Optional: design optimization suggestions
Requirements:
Experience with automotive structural simulations (door systems preferred)
Proficiency in tools such as CATIA V5
Understanding of automotive load cases and crash/structural behavior
Additional Notes:
CAD files will be provided after project assignment. Please include relevant past work or portfolio examples.
