We are in the process of building a blower + nozzle assembly for large scale spraying of fire retardant for mitigation projects. We have an existing 18 HP blower (200 MPH outlet, 6" discharge), and need to design a nozzle for injection of fire retardant (30 GPM) into the fluid stream. Our goal is maximum transport (uniform coverage distance) with minimal atomization. We are looking to hire a consultant who is skilled in fluid dynamics and flow properties to design an optimized nozzle for our existing blower and use case. This is a one time project with potential for additional design projects in the future. Our timeline is approximately 1 month.
The attached image shows our existing blower, and a sample nozzle for injection of retardant into the airstream. We are open to the nozzle/retardant injection being within the airstream, around the airstream or offset of the air stream, whatever will give us the most optimal entrainment with minimal atomization.
