Job Summary:
CAD Engineer is responsible for creating complete, manufacturable 3D models and 2D engineering drawings based on reference photos, sketches, or design concepts. This role requires the ability to analyze furniture structure and materials from an image, create accurate production drawings, and compile detailed bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure the design is ready for manufacturing.
Main Responsibilities:
• Create 3D models and 2D construction drawings of furniture based on reference photos or design sketches;
• Produce exploded views, parts lists, and bills of materials (BOMs);
• Design and optimize connection methods, structural strength, and assembly processes;
• Communicate with the production department to ensure designs meet manufacturing processes and quality standards;
• Participate in new product development and existing product improvement, providing technical support;
• Maintain design documentation and drawing version control.
Requirements:
• Proficient in Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar CAD software;
• Solid knowledge of furniture structure and manufacturing processes (wood, metal, or upholstered furniture);
• Ability to reverse-engineer manufacturable designs from images or samples;
• Familiarity with furniture materials (wood, metal, foam, fabric, etc.) and hardware applications;
