About the job
I am looking for a high-level DFM/FEA engineer to design a single, new flagship component for a high-performance spear system. You must be an expert in Fusion 360.
The Goal:
Design a new "Spearpoint Ferrule" (v2.0) that combines all our innovations. This one component must do everything:
Be the Spearpoint: It will hold modular "5mm barb inserts."
Be Crimpable: It will attach directly to the bamboo shaft via a low-power, hand-powered circular crimper.
Your Engineering & Design Tasks (All in Fusion 360):
Thread Standard (Analysis):
Analyze our "5mm barb" concept and recommend the strongest, most appropriate thread standard that can be integrated into its base.
Design the new ferrule to accept these threads.
Crimp Design (DFM):
Design the base of the ferrule to be crimpable by a low-power press.
This includes redesigning "flutes" and features that "bite" into the bamboo shaft.
"Flush-Finish" Aesthetics (DFM):
Design the base of the ferrule with a "tapered skirt" engineered to compress perfectly flush with the bamboo shaft after crimping.
Aesthetics (General):
The body of the ferrule should be "fluted" for a high-end, aesthetic finish.
Deliverables:
Your final delivery must be made by sharing the completed project with our Fusion 360 account.
Fusion 360 Source Files (.f3d):
The native, editable .f3d file for the new Gidgie_Spearpoint_v2.0.
The native, editable .f3d file for the new Barb_5mm_Threaded.
FEA Simulation Setups (in Fusion 360):...

The FEA setup and results for the barb pull-out test must be saved in the "Simulation" workspace of the .f3d file.
The FEA setup and results for the crimping simulation must also be saved within the project.
1-Page Recommendation:
A brief PDF (attached to the Fusion 360 project) justifying your chosen thread standard.
Successful completion of this job will trigger another 13 parts.
