Project Overview
We’ve developed Nexer, an ultra‑fast, next‑generation portable power bank capable of fully recharging a modern smartphone in just 5 minutes. To bring Nexer from concept to reality, we need an experienced CAD engineer or product‑development freelancer who is willing to sign an NDA before receiving any proprietary technical details. Your role will be to:

Detail the industrial design (enclosure, mechanical components, thermal features)

Produce manufacturing‑ready CAD files and a complete BOM

Support prototype build & testing (fit, form, function, thermal performance, charge‑rate validation)

You’ll transform our concept sketches and spec sheet into a polished, producible device ready for certification and small‑batch production.

Scope of Work
Industrial & Mechanical Design

Refine form factors for both variants:

2‑Charge Pack: ~110 × 65 × 18 mm

4‑Charge Pack: ~130 × 70 × 20 mm

Integrate thermal‑management elements: vapor chamber, phase‑change spreaders, venting/fin geometry

Ensure CNC‑ and injection‑mold‑friendly features (draft angles, snap‑fits, fastener bosses)

CAD Modeling & Documentation

Create full 3D CAD assemblies (SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent) of enclosure, internal trays, mounting points, connectors

Export detailed 2D drawings with tolerances for tooling, including exploded views and part lists

Generate a complete Bill of Materials (BOM) with standardized component call‑outs

Develop and execute a test plan covering:

Fit & assembly (mechanical tolerances, snap‑fit strength)

Thermal performance under 180 W load (< 45 °C surface)

Electrical interface (USB‑C PD port alignment, button/LED ergonomics)

Iterative Feedback & Revisions

Incorporate up to two rounds of design revisions based on prototype test results

Deliver updated CAD and drawings after each iteration

Deliverables
3D CAD package (native files + STEP/IGES exports)

2D engineering drawings with manufacturing tolerances

Complete BOM (Excel or Google Sheets)

Prototype test plan document

Test reports summarizing fit, thermal, and functional validation

Finalized CAD revisions post‑testing

Timeline
Kickoff & concept review: within 1 week of hire

Initial CAD & drawings delivery: 3 weeks after kickoff

Prototype build & testing: 2 weeks after CAD sign‑off

Revisions & final delivery: 1 week after test‑report review

Total duration: ~7 weeks

NDA Requirement
All applicants must be prepared to sign our standard freelancer NDA prior to receiving any detailed schematics, BOMs, or internal design documents.

Ideal Candidate
Proven experience in portable‑electronics enclosure design

Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Creo) with DFM/DFT knowledge

Familiarity with thermal‑management for high‑power devices
