About the job
We manufacture an automated countertop soft-serve machine through a factory partner in Dezhou, Shandong (China). We need a part-time senior mechanical / NPI consultant to redesign the machine cabinet, produce the full CAD and drawing package, help us source a fabricator in China, and oversee production of the first prototype before we move into full production.
Once the prototype is approved, our manufacturing partner in China will purchase cabinets directly from the fabricator. Your engagement runs from redesign through prototype sign-off.
Scope of work — sequential
Redesign the cabinet. Concepts and review cycles with our US team.
Create the CAD drawings. Full production-ready CAD package in SolidWorks or Creo, with DFM-ready drawings.
Source a fabricator in China. Identify and vet 3-5 sheet-metal / appliance fabricators in Guangdong or Shandong. Recommend one.
Oversee prototype production. Fabricator coordination, drawing revisions, first-article inspection, on-site visits when needed. Sign off on the prototype before full production begins.
Required background
