Description:
This contest is to update the current design to connect and disconnect the Donkey Calf Raise attachment to various size smith machine barbell shafts. The Donkey Calf Raise attachment is a patented apparatus that can be attached to the smith machine barbell to perform the Donkey Calf Raise exercise. The current design will attach to all smith machine barbell shafts 25mm to 35mm. However, there are currently too many components that make up the design. I need a new design that will be easier to manufacture. The new design should have a quick way to connect and disconnect the apparatus to a 25mm to 35mm diameter smith machine barbell shaft. The connecting and disconnecting method should be durable to withstand constant use. The device should be able to handle 1200 pounds. Please see the attached 3D STEP file, Inventor assembly & part files.
Attached also are images on how to perform the Donkey Calf Raise exercise.
Wants:
• A quick connect and disconnect to a smith machine barbell shaft• Commercial grade construction
• Must be very durable to withstand constant use
• Modern looking design
• It should be able to fit 25mm to 35mm diameter smith machine barbell shafts.
• Material: Aluminum
• All Designs will be 3D Solid Models
•Final submittals: 3D Step file, High res PNG and PDF.
Don't Wants:
• Do not change the overall design; just change the way it connects to the smith machine barbell• We do not want overly complex designs that are difficult to manufacture. Keep it simple

Hello,
thank you for hosting this contest, i think the connection concept is good but yes you are right, these parts are very expensive for manufacture... so i assume that you will cast the base plate and i didn't change that and i changed donkey lock. but if you want to simplify the base plate too... then tell me to modify that. this is a concept and will improve and i will be happy to get feedback, so what do you think ?

I focused on ease of manufacture and assembly with this design. It makes use of a ratchet mechanism incorporating just two laser-cut pieces of Aluminium. Laser-cutting is much faster and affordable than the manufacturing techniques likely required for the other submitted designs. The design is lightweight and strong thanks to the even distribution of force points. I would be happy to go through further design iterations with you.
I hope my design is, at least, a refreshingly new concept.

Hello,
Here is my new concept about donkey calf attachment. Locker handle having a circular shape, so as we adjust the different shafts by adjusting the locker screw and locker bracket position (shows in blue colour).

Attached is a simple way to clamp that is more in tune with what you see in a gym. If you want more info on how it would work, the components involved or some aesthetic tweaks I am happy to help. Note that I have added three components to the mechanical closure, one of which is off the shelf purchaseable.

I suggest my new locking concept .The donkey has and second safety locking device This is totally semple and and much cheaper to produce .Please take a look and give me a feedback.In the design is used self adhesive hook and loop strong tape.Material - Aluminium.Donkey Calf Raise attachment is same- just locking is changed.

Slightly different from your original product..
I removed some parts like pins,threaded rods.etc
We have just one T rod,one length for 30 and 25mm but we have slightly different handle at the top,it has some grooves,you just need to move that rod from 30 to 25 and lock.
No need to use wingnut to adjust rod diameter,springs or something like that.
Here you have render image and STP file.

In this case we have coarse thread,so you can regulate all with pitch size.
We do not have any additional part except handle and threaded rod.
One turn of the handle and you will have 26,another turn 27,so for different sizes you just need to turn that handle and lock your rod in place,thats everything.

@Vikram pimpale you submitted in the wrong concept...
Designers, the attachment should be able to fit 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35mm diameter barbells.
Do your workshop included pipe lasercuting machine?What budget for production can be convenient for your ? If it is possible please send the knowledge about .
Designers please be unique in your design. If I think you copied someone else design; I will eliminate your design.

Hamed this is a good start. Lets keep the baseplate the way it is. I like that design. As for your locking devise; I like the concept. Lets make the handle have a bit more leverage and comfort when locking.

Do you need all part models to be done with drawing and PDF or only the concept should be sent in PDF and step file.
"...to fit 25mm to 30 mm..." Does this includes 26, 27, 28, 29 mm or the shafts are only 25 and 30 mm?

Revolutionary Meditation Bench
A standard meditation bench made of wood gets a makeover. We are looking to create a fully-adjustable, lightweight, travel version of a wooden meditation bench for manufacture via injection molding (plastic). Here is a reference for what it usually looks like (not what we are making):

The bench consists of 2 legs, of the same size, 7.5 inches tall. Atop is a main sitting piece, which is at right angles to the legs and is 18 inches long and 7 inches deep. All parts are ½ inch thick, or thinner.
The bench needs to be able to support the weight of an adult.
The main sitting piece (piece “A” in the sketch) needs to be rotational such that it can be tilted forward in order to create an angled seating platform. This adjustment is to conform to the seating angle of the meditator to create comfortable sitting position. The piece must lock out once in place at the desired setting, in order to provide stability while sitting on it (aka it does not move).
The legs must also be retractable, such that they fold in towards the main sitting piece in some manner, in order to make the bench small and practical for travelling or storage. When folded, teethe assembly should ideally be no more than 1 inch thick.

Smart Hub Enclosure Design
We control how power flows through your home. This device, a hub device, orchestrator, controller, manager, is a small electronic appliance will sit on the table or bookcase in homes. It functions similarly to a home automation hub (e.g. Smart Things, Wink, etc.), but is smarter than a hub. It connects to smart meters, home Z-wave automation equipment, Wi-Fi networks and Ethernet. When you’re using too much power, it throttles back your home’s usage. When more power is available, it throttles usage back up.
It needs to look good, look modern, simple but elegant. We’re trying to exude confidence, control, action, durability. It needs to fit in with a modern home and look good. Attached are model files of that include the minimum features of the circuit boards and connectors. Also included are drawings of the components included on the circuit boards as well as additional pictures/descriptions of the circuit board stack. Start with the “Enclosure Presentation” file and go from there.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The bottom circuit board component/connector placement is fixed (cannot be moved/altered). The top circuit board model file currently shows 4 LEDs. These LEDs indicate system status for Wi-Fi/Ethernet Network, Smart Meter Connection, Z-Wave Device Connection and Cloud Connection. This configuration may be changed and we expect it to change, multiple colors and/or other arrangements may be used, but we must be able to at least indicate status for these 4 systems. It would be nice to indicate, in addition to blinking status for example, motion or activity in the system.
The design does NOT have to have draft built into the model for the contest, but the designer must be able to add draft (for additional fee) after the prototype has been approved. Think about how this would/could be molded when designing.
The output will be 3D Generic CAD files (i.e. step files) + Native 3D CAD.
