REDA: Please review the brief and attachments. We are looking for concept sketches for a car-key case. When the case is opened, the car key should be revealed.
The key fob is a case in itself. What is the purpose of this secondary case and what type of innovation do you have in mind or want to see that the key fob doesn't provide already? I assume this case's only purpose is to protect and create a more fun way to hold and protect the key fob from scratches. I always assumed this type of key fob always stays inside your pocket and there really is no need to interact with it in order to enter or start your vehicle. Maybe you can provide a bit more insight as to the reason to have a secondary case?

Hi Fox HM. Yes, I was thinking soft shell to allow button pressing and had some nice ideas around that concept. I will give this competition a miss and let the others try and find you a solution!
DesignAssist: Most designers going for a soft case design would only do so for accessing or pressing the buttons on the rectangular car key (so the user can access the buttons on the key without taking the key out of the case). Apart from that particular design feature, we fail to see any advantages or benefits of offering a soft-case design.
SATLYT Space Engineering Design: Yes we are trying to identify an simple and innovative opening mechanism for the case which will offer an enriched user-experience.
@Fox HM Ltd I thought you wanted a case for the literal metalic key to fit into. Do you want a case for that exact rectangular typical type of key example to fit inside? If that is the case, I'll send you a new design for that.
CADCOMMUNALS: A special thank you for the design effort. Interesting opening mechanism. However, the key does not fit this design. For a view of what the key actually looks like, please refer to attachments one and two.
SATLYT Space Engineering Design: Thank you for the design. Please refer to the carkey shape in attachments 1 and 2. I do not think you have understood?
MR. CAD DESIGNS; Thanks for the query. We are not designing keys. That is for BMW to do.
We wish to design a case and are looking for concept sketches. The key fits inside the case.
When we wish to use the key, we have to open the case by some means.
We wish to define the 'means'.
CADCOMMUNALS: Yes, you should be able to open the case and remove the key (When you get the case for the first time, you have to place the key into it right?).
The key should be removable from the case occasionally, for example if you need to replace the key. Apart from the that, the key should stay in the case and the case should stay on your keyring.
Steven INA: Thank you for the design, but we are a bit puzzled on how the key is revealed or extracted from the case? (ie., How does one access the buttons on the key itself)?
thankyou for clarifying. I have a small doubt whether the key is attached to the case or it can be detachable with the Case.? just like opening the case and we can move out the key.
thank you
divyang patel: Thank you for the design, however, we are looking for the design of a case for a car key. The car key fits inside the case. The case should be blank, no button, no screen etc, on the case itself. By using a mechanism, the key should be revealed from within the case. The case should be openable and the key should be revealed in whole or part.
@Fox HM Ltd Thank you for your comment i will provide more sketches. You provided information about key is aprox. 13 mm so if the maximum is 31 mm that's possible to be with rotation - 9 mm each side is enough.
