Mixer Tank Design

in 3D Modeling Design held by Oladapo
Contest Ended, Winner(s) have been selected.
Design a stainless steel mixer tank of about 9000litres for blending sugar molasses with water prior to fermentation. Suggested dimension of tank is:
Height = 1.52 metres
Diameter = 2.72metres
Please specify agitaor capacity etc.
Tank should be dished bottom with very gently slope for easy of emptying.
Design details.

Additional Information

I would like to edit the contest as follows;

Diameter: 2.33 metre (which should make the circumference around 7.3 metres). This way only three steel plates need be joined together during fabrication.

Straight side: The height of the straight side can be increased but should not exceed 1.83 metres.

Hi, I want to answer some question
Do you want simple design easy for manufacture?
What kind of file format do you prefer?
I can send you :
1. 2D drawings for all parts and asembly drawing in PDF format or SW drawings.
2. DXF or DWG for all parts and Asembly.
3 3D CAD Files in STEP, Parasolids, SW2011 or different file format

I think electric motor should not be mounted directly on the cover, because there will be sag.
You can use standart wheels or remove them at all.
If you use a propeller that I send you, I can draw attachment to the axes of the propellers
If you have any requirements, please write me

Thanks Alen,
1. Normally, the designer is supposed to make sure there is a vent at the top of the tank that will help in preventing vacuum formation and tank collapse.

2. 4mm Stainless steel. No other material

3. Flat reinforced concrete.

4. DN80.

- Is there a possibility of a vacuum in this tank (like, if all molasses would run out from the bottom of the tank, while none molasses (or air) would enter in it, so under-pressure would be created in the tank)?
- Do you need tank to be made out of stainless steel or is there some other material allowable?
- On what kind of surface do you plan to place the tank (flat concrete, special foundation, or something else)?
- How large inlet / outlet pipe for molasses and inlet pipe for water do you need?

1. Molasses will first be metered into the mixing tank or allowed to flow by gravity from a day tank (The Designer should make provision for a stainless steel graduated steel bar permanently fixed inside the tank for measuring volume) then water will be admitted into the tank until the required volume is attained while stirring continuously.

2. The visual access will be via a manhole at the top of the tank.

3. The fluid will be mixed at ambient temperature

Best regards,

I have a few questions:
> How are the two fluids to be mixed?
> Do you need visual access to the mixed fluid?
> At what temperature is the mixed fluid to be kept at?

Brick of Money
The goal of this project is to design a desk ornament that is a conversation piece. https://goo.gl/wc3ueb There are 3 aspects to this product: 1: The foundation: A rectangle of solid metal. Should have an expensive high end look. A bar of silver is the only thing I can think of as an example foundation. https://goo.gl/wMySnL However, I am going for more of a brushed nickel look. 2: The casing that sits on top of the medal foundation. This casing is either made of glass or plastic and will be glued to the medal foundation. 3. $500 in one dollar bills will be inside the glass casing. The attached image is not high end looking but should give you a basic idea of the kind of product we are looking to develop.
The gentlemans shaver
We need a design for a shaver handle. The design should have an exclusive look to it, not "spacey" as many established brands are. Keywords for the design could be "gentleman, scandinavian, hipster, modern man, elegant, James Bond, simple" and such. What we need is a design made in CAD, and ultimately files ready for production, our current setup requires .dwg or .dwt files. But we would like to see an realistic 3d render of the handle. There are though some specifications for the connection between the handle and the razor blades that should be met. Since the connection is an standard set of from our razor-blade production partner. In the attached files there are an example of an handle and the lock mechanism, so the way the blades are connected and the sliding lock works should be thought into the design. It's for the scandinavian market, so the design should fit in there, and should ofcourse have a good grib, size and weight to it. We have a target weight of minimum 50-60gr to the handle.
