just started today,...any chances you can extend a day or two?

If this contest could be extended and the proper info (i.e. step) of the model would be given, there would be more entries
Thu, 01 Sep 2016 07:23:03 +0000
can you please extend the date for a day or two
thank you!

Unfortunately, I won&;t be able to get the .igs or .step files in time before this contest ends. My primary computer won&;t be repaired in time.

If you can, please work with the .ply file. I understand if the dimensions aren&;t exactly perfect. We will make whatever slight modifications at a later date if necessary. Thanks again!

The problem with a ply file is that even if you reverse engineer it, there will be issues with exact dimensions and ultimately lead to an improper fitting. So if you can provide a step/ iges file, the fitments can be checked properly. I request you to upload the neutral format files and increase the time frame for the contest for a good response.

My apologies on the delays getting the .step and .igs files for everybody. My computer that I was doing the modeling on died. Trying to get it back up and running ASAP.

@ abhijeet.ksahu

Ideally, we would like to have the plastic cover remain in place. Thanks!

@Ivan Zerpa

This scanner is marketed under a few names. Trimble TX5, FARO Focus 120, FARO X30, FARO X130 and FARO X330. Dimensions are identical for each different model. Thanks!

Will the cage sit above the plastic cover or you are gonna remove the plastic cover and use just the cage instead of that?

@stylexdesign

Dimensions should be based off of the .ply model that I have uploaded. I will be uploading a .stp file shortly. Thanks!

@Cad Geek

Yes. The clearance between the top of the instrument and the existing plastic protection is only 1/32". Thanks for the question!

@Manuel Rosso

Thank you for commenting on this project. I am looking for a cover that will remain in place during the use of the instrument. I have uploaded a .ply mesh of the instrument. I will also be uploading a .stp file shortly.
