Built a mini compressor-style pump using:
• A 4900Kv brushless motor
• A 3D printing material for precision and heat resistance
• Components: impeller, snail shell (top + bottom housing), motor mount, motor
• Producing ~140g of static thrust Pumps are mechanical devices designed to transport fluids from one location to another by imparting energy to the fluid.
The snail shell (volute) centrifugal pump consists of a rotating impeller enclosed within a casing that gradually expands in a spiral form. This geometry applications include water supply systems, chemical processing, HVAC, and industrial cooling circuits. In this project, a centrifugal pump with a snail shell volute casing and a glass-fiber reinforced SLA resin impeller was designed for improved strength-to-weight ratio. The study involves material selection, dimensional specification, and CAD modeling as the basis for further performance analysis and manufacturing.
