About this service

I offer professional reverse engineering and precision 3D modeling services for museum-quality scale models, historical reconstructions, and complex reference-based CAD development.

My work combines historical research, photogrammetry-based reconstruction, Rhino 3D surface modeling, and production-oriented detailing to recreate vessels and other heritage objects with a high level of accuracy and visual fidelity.

A representative example is my work on a 1:32 museum-scale model of the Norwegian fishing vessel Havbris for Nordnorsk Fartøyvernsenter og Båtmuseum. Based on photogrammetry, historical references, and reverse engineering methods, I developed a detailed CAD model for production. The complete development cycle took approximately 80 hours, including research, modeling, detailing, technical drawings, assembly instructions, and production-ready file preparation.

My services include:
• Reverse engineering from photos, scans, photogrammetry, drawings, and archival references
• Rhino 3D modeling of complex hulls, surfaces, and hard-to-reconstruct forms
• Historical and technical reconstruction of missing or incomplete geometry
• Surface refinement and correction of imperfect scan-based data
• CAD development for museum models, heritage replicas, and presentation-grade scale models
• Technical drawings, exploded views, and assembly instructions
• Production-ready exports for 3D printing, CNC, modelmaking, and fabrication workflows

Industrial CAD designer focused on reverse engineering and museum-grade scale model reconstruction

I’m an Industrial Designer and CAD Engineer specializing in reverse engineering and high-precision 3D modeling for manufacturing and scale models.

I help clients turn incomplete references — photos, scans, worn parts, or legacy components — into clean, production-ready CAD. My work focuses on accuracy, structural integrity, and real-world usability, whether for mold making, 3D printing, or small-... read more

Questions and answers

I can work from photos, scan data, photogrammetry, technical drawings, archival references, sketches, and partial dimensions. I am experienced in reconstructing accurate geometry even from incomplete source material.

I specialize in objects of technical history — historically informed models of vessels, aircraft, machinery, and other engineering artifacts. My preferred areas are marine vessels and early aviation, where I combine reverse engineering, historical research, and precise CAD modeling to create accurate, production-ready results.

My main tool is Rhinoceros 3D, which is especially effective for complex surfaces, hulls, and precision modeling. I can also prepare files for downstream workflows such as 3D printing, CNC, and fabrication Solidworks.

Yes. I can prepare technical drawings, exploded views, part identification layouts, and assembly instructions to support model production, fabrication, and presentation.

Depending on the project, I can provide 3DM, STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, and other production-ready formats suitable for modelmaking, prototyping, and manufacturing workflows.
