About this service

3D scanning of small to large objects with very high resolution portable scanner system. Small being about the size of a "breadbox", large being something such as a full vehicle (car or truck). High resolution STL files to be provided and cad usable files for important planes and datums can be supplied for needed references for your reverse engineering needs. Full 3D reverse engineered modelling of scanned items is also an option depending on size of scope.

Yes I can travel within a certain radius of Southern TN and North Alabama

If the item can be shipped then that would be the best option for anyone far away from Southern TN or North Alabama.

My most basic supply is an STL mesh file of the item you want scanned. I scan you item and upload your scanned file to a cloud serivice.

Fee is about $100 per hour. but I typically give a fixed estimate ahead of time based on the item to be scanned. You can send me a photo of the item and I can give you that estimate and tell you if it is a hard or variable estimate. Most of the time it will be a hard fixed estimate.

The scanning device is about the size of a soccer ball. It needs to be able to be about 12 to 18 inches away form anything to be scanned and have a direct line of sight of what it needs to scan. So, if you can't fit that "soccer ball" into the space that is directly 90 degree to the surface that needs to be scanned then it will not scan it. For example, if you were to want to scan a car. You can easily scan the top outer surface of the car, but an engine cannot be scanned while in the car. Only the "top view" can be scanned. I have done scans for people doing an engine swap where I scan the engine on a stand and then scan the empty engine compartment and then they use those two scans to perfectly align the "non-factory" engine into the car with custom motor mounts designed using measurements from marrying those scans together.
