I am experienced in various areas of design. As a mechanical engineer, the projects I've worked on include designing components for a one person off road vehicle in the Baja Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) International Competitions.
In my master's work I collaborated with plastic surgeons to design a surgical guide to support surgeons with planing and preforming breast reconstruction after breast cancer mastectomies.
I have also participated in the 3DExperience ForGoodHackathon, and worked with a team to design and prototype a prosthetic arm for a person with a below the elbow amputation.

  • Surgical Design Contractor Granville Biomedical Inc. · Freelance Apr 2019 – Present 5 yrs 1 mos St. John's, NL, Canada Working with the Granville Biomedical team I have developed women's health anatomical models for healthcare training. I have also designed educational models of female genitalia mutilation to support a training session in Sierra Leone. I have supported the team in the model fabrication process by designing silicon molds. I continue to incorporate additive manufacturing design regulations in designs.

I am familiar with the various types of additive manufacturing technologies and have preformed machine maintenance to the printers at our facilities.

  • Lead Designer, Engineering Co-Op Student Responsive AUV Localization and Mapping · Internship May 2014 – Aug 2014 3 mos St. John's, NL, Canada Working with the Responsive AUV Localization and Mapping team I designed a mount to position an AUV tracking device over the side of a moving vessel. I drafted engineering drawings and oversaw the fabrication process. I collaborated with a multi-disciplinary team for AUV field testing.
  • Junior Lab Technician Virtual Environments for Knowledge Mobilization · Internship May 2012 – Aug 2012 3 mos St. John's, NL, Canada Working with the Virtual Environments for Knowledge Mobilization team I upgraded the simulator's mechanical and electrical systems. I designed a 3D model that accurately represents the simulations workspace, as well as conducted routine tests of the simulator model and lab demonstrations.

  • Women in Science and Engineering Undergraduate Society, Memorial University As a Executive Committee Secretary Member I managed the planning and financials of the social events. I represented the society in networking events. I took the role of mentoring younger women in science and engineering programs. I organised career events for other undergraduates, and liaison between students and professors.
  • Memorial Baja Student Design Team, Memorial University, Newfoundland The Memorial Baja team's design focus is to create a custom off-road vehicle, and competing in the international Society of Automotive Engineering Series. I joined the team as a junior team member in 2011 - 2013. I supported the team with minor design projects, and focused on the fabrication process of building the off-road vehicle. I took the position of Design Lead in 2013-2014, designed the vehicle's shifting mechanism that integrated into the custom designed gearbox. I then became the team's Co-Captain in 2014-2016 where I oversaw the design, purchasing and fabrication of the vehicle. As well as managed the budgets and applied to government grants to support the team. In 2016 the team qualified for a Design Finalist position in Rochester NY, and placed 5th out of 96 teams in the design category.
