In addition provide Agency Referral plan reviews for internal and external agencies including Capital Projects division, the City of Lakewood, CDOT, and RTD.
  
  To explain further: Transportation Engineering review and approval is required whenever there is construction in the city's public right-of-way (ROW), such as changing the location of the curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways or curb ramps; or construction of lighting, traffic signs, or medians. Public Works also typically require projects that increases vehicular and/or pedestrian traffic to improve, construct, or reconstruct public sidewalks and/or street infrastructure within the ROW adjacent to their property.
  
  This includes the review and evaluation of transportation engineering plans, traffic impact studies, site development plans, architectural drawings and/or project/development documents submitted for approval utilizing applicable codes/standards/guidelines/laws, appropriate municipal ordinances, and construction and engineering standards, and check engineering calculations for transportation. Also determine review fees and authorizes the release of approved documents for city permits.
  
  Interact with the public, professional design consultants, project managers, contractors, and city inspectors to communicate permit application procedures and regulatory/ code requirements. Participate in design coordination meetings regarding private development projects and city, state, and regional capital improvement projects in order to ensure timely approval and completion of projects, and resolve any problem areas.
• Design Engineer David Evans & Associates · Full-time Jun 2015 – Present 8 yrs 11 mos Denver, CO, United States I served as a design engineer working mainly on freight-rail capital improvement projects. My responsibilities have included civil/track layout and design, permitting, grading and drainage design, utilities planning and design, site inspections, cost estimating, inter-disciplinary coordination, permitting with local, state, federal agencies and utility districts. I practiced a client-focused approach to project delivery, providing excellent communication skills with the client in order to meet the client’s expectations through construction. My experience includes working directly for Union Pacific and BNSF on several projects in coordinating the preparation of design details, plans, estimates and drawings. Through the freight railroad projects described below, I gained understanding of freight railroad processes and departments, including standard procedures for the preparation of bid packages, evaluation of bids received, contractor submittal reviews, pre-bid and other milestone onsite/offsite project meetings, and coordination with agencies.
