I am a UK-based mechanical design and manufacturing engineer with over 12 years of hands-on CNC and CAD/CAM experience.
I specialise in turning ideas, sketches and existing parts into practical, production-ready designs. My strength is combining 3D CAD and engineering drawings with real machining knowledge, so designs are not only correct on screen but efficient, realistic and cost-effective to manufacture.
My services include mechanical part and assembly design, parametric 3D modelling, fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings, GD&T, tolerances and fits, DFM/DFA reviews, prototype development, reverse engineering, CNC fixture design, and CAD-to-CNC support.
I have extensive experience with precision milled and turned components, threaded features, bores, locating and mating interfaces, complex multi-axis parts, fixtures, tooling and mechanical assemblies. I regularly work with stainless steel, Inconel and other engineering alloys, considering tooling access, workholding, machining sequence, surface finish, inspection and cycle time from the outset.
Software experience includes SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, Edgecam and hyperMILL. I also provide CAM programming and optimisation for 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC milling and turning, including simulation, post-processing and machine-ready programs.
