About
Mechanical design engineer with hands-on experience designing Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and vehicle-assembly fixtures for automotive and manufacturing clients, currently working with JBM, Euler Motors, and Honda Power. My core strength is translating production requirements into manufacturable machine and fixture designs — grounded in machine design fundamentals, GD&T, DFMEA/DFM, and FEA simulation (ANSYS).
Earlier in my career I led the transmission design for a national SAE BAJA competition vehicle (44% weight reduction on the gearbox, 37% on the universal joint) and headed a 4-person team on tire tread FEA analysis, scoring 796/800. I've also spent time as an independent design consultant, delivering SolidWorks/AutoCAD/ANSYS work for individual and small-business clients, and as a design engineer producing construction-ready technical drawings for U.S. outside-plant telecom infrastructure — so I'm comfortable working directly with international clients and remote handoffs.
I'm now expanding from fixture/SPM design toward robotics design — work-cell layout, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), and fixtures for robotic welding/material handling — a natural extension of the automated-assembly work I already do. I'm also building fluency with AI-assisted design workflows (generative design, simulation-assisted optimization) to speed up iteration and deliver more design options per project.
Tools: SolidWorks, Fusion 360 (incl. Simulation), AutoCAD, ANSYS. Programming: Python, C++. Open to remote, fixed-rate, and hourly engagements worldwide.
