CAD designer for customer-specific radial shaft seals and rubber molded parts

Overall responsibility for developing custom seals end-to-end: from requirements discussions and 3D design in Autodesk Inventor through drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing support.
Developed a mathematical model for elastomer dimensional changes (vulcanization, expansion onto the metal carrier, press-fitting into the housing bore) and built an Excel tool to determine stretch, press-fit, and shrinkage factors as the basis for correction dimensions of vulcanization tooling.
Transferred these correction factors into parametric 3D tool models using iLogic: the designer enters only seal dimensions and factors; Inventor automatically updates mold geometry, drawings, and BOMs—significantly reducing design effort and lead times.
Developed on-site vulcanization presses for marine propulsion systems as well as transfer molding tools for cost-effective seal production.
Designed test rigs to measure leakage, friction torque, and wear under variable operating and pressure conditions; used results to optimize seal geometry.
Geometrically optimized sealing lips (e.g., flank angle, contact width, back-side cavity design) to increase pressure capability, reduce wear, and lower drive losses.
Contributed to seal variants with PTFE-coated lips to further reduce friction and operating temperature.
Worked closely with manufacturing and external toolmakers from prototype phase through series readiness.
