About
"Know where the last nail goes before you drive the first one."
I am a hands-on carpenter with over 30 years of experience as a framer, taper, trim contractor, cabinet installer, and general contractor. I've worked in new production builds, custom homes, and renovations, so I understand the nuanced differences required for the same tasks across these settings.
Over the years, I've carved out a niche focusing on the less-than-straightforward jobs—either ones that uncovered unexpected complexities needing creative problem-solving, or projects that were inherently complex from the start, demanding out-of-the-box solutions. For all of them, I've relied on SketchUp Pro as my go-to tool for solving problems virtually, helping clients visualize the scope, processes, and final outcome, and ensuring everything makes sense before driving that first nail.
I'm now looking to put those skills to work for others.
I'm very proficient with SketchUp Pro, though I am self taught and there may be gaps in my knowledge of features that are outside of my scope of use. But I model it the way I build it. I don't draw something I don't know how to build. My models and solutions are practical, achievable, and easily executable, using standard building practices.
I'm actively expanding too: teaching myself Twinmotion to bring models to life with better visuals, and enrolled in a program for my Revit ACU and ACP certifications to broaden what I can offer in terms of BIM (Building Information Modeling).
Where my real value lies is in combining deep residential building expertise with above-average SketchUp proficiency. I bring practical, real-world solutions to the table—whether you're planning framing for an existing concept, figuring out trim and finish details, solving unique site challenges, or developing a concept from scratch. I deliver models and drawings that make projects smoother, more efficient, and truly buildable.
