At Verus Research I was responsible for basic mechanical engineering tasks like creating product designs using CAD tools like Solidworks and analysis tools like Solidworks Simulation and MathCAD. I was asked to prepare and participate in customer-facing stage gate meetings. I was responsible for the procurement and assembly of customer-facing products and prototypes. I worked on a team that
developed a sensor that repackaged an oscilloscope in such a way that it could be flown in an unmanned aerial drone. The packaging had to protect the oscilloscope from EMI interference, vibration, hot temperatures, and rain. I was responsible for leading the mechanical design, prototyping, testing and delivery of the product to our government customer. We were able to deliver this product on time and within budget. I lead the execution of customer-facing field test, directing team members and addressing challenges presented by weather and equipment malfunctions. I also held
various managerial roles. I managed 20 engineers as a Team Lead. I was responsible for ensuring they had work that matched their skillset. I was the Technical Lead on
multiple challenging projects. I was instrumental in applying production concepts to the design process to accelerate getting the product to the customer to meet field test timelines. I lead a struggling project to the point where it could be handed off to another leader and managed a successful hand-off. I was instrumental in bringing that project across the finish line. I was able to give a design presentation at the Directed Energy Professional Society Conference in 2024. I was recognized by upper management for the field test work done in 2023.
