Observation and Action Network (OAN) Fellow - 2021 The Observation and Ac on Network (OAN) Grants Programme, hosted by NASA (National Association of Students of Architecture) India and supported, inter-alia, by the Centre for the Living City, New York and Urban Design Collective, Chennai, India, aims to transform cities for a be er tomorrow by
responding to challenges at the neighbourhood level. As recipients of the OAN Fellowship 2021, our team was awarded a grant of INR 1,00,000 to implement our proposal of a Skill Development Centre for underprivileged women in an urban slum in Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR. A collaborative approach to the
design culminated in the community pain ng murals on the walls, fostering a sense of ownership. This attempt at placemaking sees women handcrafting crochet products to augment their incomes which we promote on social media.
