Hello here is little story of mine,
Being born in Istanbul, I was always passionate about architecture and design. The ancient city, with its grand land and sea architecture meant that I was always in the presence of monumental feats of the human mind. Trying to follow in the footsteps of these great architects I have studied at the architecture faculty of Yeditepe University in Istanbul and graduated with a Batchelor honours degree in Civil Architecture in 2019, including spending 6 months in Hungary for an exchange program to further broaden my horizons.
After my graduation I have started working at Kraken Yachts with their design team and I was highly involved in all aspects of boat design. Kraken yachts focused on building ocean cruising sailing yachts which are marketed as the strongest, most functional but at the same time stylish. My responsibilities at Kraken revolve around preparing 3D models of different layouts as well as general design of any element onboard. Additionally, I participate in client meetings for material selection and presentation and prepare renders and mouldboards for the selected styling choices. Last year I was also involved in a 50 Mt super yacht refit project where I was working with a senior interior designer to redraw the whole interior.
Over the past five years in yacht interior design, I have specialized in creating detailed 3D models, primarily focusing on interiors. However, I was also actively involved in other areas of yacht design(any outfitting and structural elements) whenever needed, which has given me a well-rounded and comprehensive understanding of various design elements throughout the vessel.
In addition to 3D modelling, my responsibilities included preparing 2D technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM). I was also closely engaged in client-facing activities, such as participating in meetings to guide interior selections, creating mood boards, and producing high-quality renders to support design proposals. I played a key role in ensuring optimal colour coordination and material matching to align with client preferences and project aesthetics.
